PGY-SSM-EV-Tester is an AC/DC characterization platform that provides flexibility to make AC/DC measurements of eMMC, SD, and MicroSD devices at different operating modes enabling the validation engineers to do in-depth automated electrical and timing performance analysis to ascertain the endurance and reliability of eMMC and SD devices. This test solution saves significant test time and reduces human errors.

PGY-SSM-EV-Tester eMMC and SD AC/DC Electrical Validation platform provide comprehensive electrical validation data to characterize eMMC devices for eMMC 4.41, 4.51, 5.0, and 5.1 (HS400) and SD 2.0/3.0 specifications. This innovative solution enables the validation engineers to run test cases to test different specifications and make all electrical parametric measurements. It covers 100s of measurements which could be completed in an hour instead of spending days.

SD eMMC AC DC Tester

Solder down active probes allows probing of the MPHY test points. This allows the design and test engineers to capture UFS traffic between the host and UFS memory with high signal fidelity. Today’s test engineers need to test the use case scenarios in their labs that mimic real-life use cases. The PGY- UFS4.0-PA, UFS Protocol Analyzer has been designed to enable engineers to closely monitor and analyze the traffic between the host and the device while executing the various use case scenarios.

Windows-based protocol analysis software provides the industry’s best protocol correlation between UFS to UniPro and MPHY layers. Time correlation between the different protocol layers significantly reduces debug time of designs. The floating window design of this software allows engineers to view the UFS view, UniPro view, and MPHY view on different computer monitors and automatically correlate the UFS packets to the MPHY layer. This makes analysis very easy while analyzing the gigabytes of Protocol information.

PGY-SSM-EV-Tester interfaces to host computers using the USB 3.0 interface. Users can run standard test cases to test either eMMC or SD devices using software GUI. The product provides flexibility to write custom scripting test cases to analyze the AC/DC performance to meet user needs. PGY-SSM-EV-Tester S/W that runs in the Host computer remotely controls the oscilloscope to acquire current and voltage signals and analyses it for AC/DC electrical parameters as per eMMC/SD Specifications. PGY-SSM-EV-tester provides hooks to connect oscilloscope voltage and current probes and acquire voltage and current signals while running the test cases to make it convenient to use the test platform for comprehensive AC/DC Electrical characterization of eMMC and SD Devices.

PGY-SSM-EV-Tester eMMC/SD Electrical validation software captures the clock, command, and data signals. PGY-SSM-EV-Tester software running on the host computer connects to an oscilloscope using the LAN interface. Optionally, the user can also run this software inside the Tektronix MSO6 series oscilloscope and make the analysis.

PGY-SSM-EV AC/DC measurement software

PGY-SSM-EV-Tester Software runs on the host computer with Windows OS. PGY-SSM EV software communicates with Tester hardware using a USB interface and connects to the Oscilloscope using a LAN cable. Users have the flexibility to initialize SD or eMMC devices and then run different test cases in different operating modes of SD or eMMC devices. PGY-SSM-EV software analyzes the oscilloscope-acquired waveform for AC/DC parameters and displays the electrical measurements.

PGY-UFS 4.0-PA UFS Protocol Analyzer interfaces to solder down probe tips using mSMP Flexi coax cables. The active probe tips are powered by a power module which is powered by PGY-UFS4.0-PA. Protocol Analyzer is interfaced to host computer using USB3.0 interface. High-speed host connectivity and 16GB buffer enable continuous streaming of protocol data to host SSD and storage for a longer period of time. The software offers multi-view such as MPHY view, UniPro view, and UFS View. Each view lists the respective protocol packets and their details with a correlation of each layer for easy debugging. The lightweight Analyzer is easy to carry during field visits.

UFS Protocol Layer

PGY-UFS 4.0-PA Software can display each UFS packet parameter in a listing window. Right-click lists all the packet parameters for user selection. Users can color code the fonts or background color for easy identification of each UFS packet.

PACP And Unipro View

PGY-UFS4.0-PA Software separates the PACP packets in a separate view for easy analysis of power mode change packets and link to UniPro packets. Users can view the MPHY states stall, prepare, sync information in UniPro view apart from user selection for DL_Data and AFC/NACK Packet details.

Error Events, Search, and Filter

PGY-UFS3.X-PA Software does the live decode and lists all the events. The list of events is shown in this picture. Users can easily note the errors in captured protocol data. In large buffer capture, it takes extremely difficult to locate the errors. But PPGGY-UFS3.X-PA software simplifies this by listing events while decoding the captured data. Search and Fliter allows you directly locate the error events or UFS or UniPro or PACP packet in the protocol listing windows. Filter-in and Filter-out make it easy to view the data of interest in the protocol listing window
