Our Pilot

Project New Era

Our consortium's flagship initiative is Project New Era, the first privately-led pilot of its kind in the G7, designed to evaluate the path towards a digital currency ecosystem in the UK, including regulated stablecoins and retail Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs). The project encourages closer public-private collaboration in order to address key challenges and open questions relating to stablecoin regulation and CBDC development.

The DFMI Consortium

The consortium is dedicated to exploring the future Digital Financial Market Infrastructure. We are made up of leading financial institutions, including commercial banks, payment providers, telecommunications platforms, FinTechs, NFT ecosytems and cryptocurrency exchanges. The consortium intends to use the blueprint set out by Project New Era to launch private-sector pilots in multiple jurisdictions across the world.
