Using Big Data analytics to improve the treatment of all blood cancers

The HARMONY Alliance uses Big Data technologies to improve the treatment of blood cancers i.e. Hematologic Malignancies. These are cancers that affect the blood and lymphatic system.

Answering key outstanding questions
In recent decades, diagnosis and treatment of Hematologic Malignancies have substantially improved, but many remain incurable. The key outstanding questions in this field can only be answered by studying large numbers of patients. Therefore, the HARMONY Alliance has developed a unique research infrastructure to facilitate Big Data research in the field of Hematologic Malignancies.

Sharing data, exploration tools and knowledge
The HARMONY Big Data Platform assembles harmonized clinical data from over 179,000 European blood cancer patients (update March 2024). The associated data processing pipeline ensures data safety and quality, as well as patient privacy. The HARMONY Alliance has developed sophisticated data analytic tools, allowing scientists to answer research questions that cannot be addressed with other methods.
