Collaborating with ITC for water conservation. A recent meeting between Shri Prasana Prabhu, Chairman of Vyakti Vikas Kendra India (The Art of Living) and Shri Sanjiv Puri, Chairman & Managing Director of ITC Limited revealed shared goals in economic, social and environmental spaces. Over many decades, The Art of Living has demonstrated unwavering dedication to a broad spectrum of sustainable development initiatives. While ITC is the only company in the world to have achieved the rare distinction of being water, carbon and solid waste recycling positive for over a decade, despite an expanding manufacturing base. Given the considerable synergy between the two organisations and shared focus areas, it was decided to collaborate on water conservation, a cause both entities have passionately pursued over the years. Great outcomes are anticipated as the two organisations embark on this collaborative journey. #artofliving #gurudevsrisriravishankar #artoflivingsocialprojects #gurudev #ShriPrasanaPrabhu #ITCLimited #WaterConservation #SustainableLiving #SaveWater #WaterIsLife #watercrisis #GlobalPresence

With the blessings of Gurudev Sri Sri Shankar, the Art of Living Free School Project was initiated in 1999. The developmental journey commenced with just one school over the span of 22 years, catering to the education of 12 children. Today, the project has blossomed, reaching out to over 3000 children across 17 schools. The Tribal School Project aims to educate the tribal children of today, nurturing them to become the seeds of progress and development for future generations. Its focus extends beyond mere academic achievement to encompass holistic development, including the cultivation of moral values, eco-consciousness, a community-oriented spirit, practical wisdom, and spiritual maturity in each child. Through initiatives like these, the project is not only providing education but also fostering the growth and empowerment of tribal communities, ensuring that they have the tools and knowledge to thrive and contribute meaningfully to society. Krishna Narode, a farmer from Gangapur village in Maharashtra, has embraced natural farming and aims to generate Rs. 6,00,000 in earnings this year—an impressive leap from his previous year's income. Likewise, Mangala Maruti Waghmare anticipates substantial returns from her agricultural endeavours. Mahadev Gomare, an Agriculture Expert and The Art of Living Project Director (MH), spearheaded efforts to revive the Manjara River, significantly boosting water availability. This has prompted a shift among farmers towards natural farming, afforestation, agroforestry, social forestry, and climate-resilient agriculture, positively impacting village ecosystems. The Art of Living's expertise in river rejuvenation has been pivotal in driving these transformative changes. . . . . . #artofliving #gurudevsrisriravishankar #artoflivingsocialprojects #naturalfarming #sustainablefarming #riverrejuvenation #farmersuccess #maharashtrafarming #ecologicalinitiatives #waterconservation

The Art of Living organization has been instrumental in transforming the water situation in Hunsur taluk of Mysore district, Karnataka. Since 2021, their initiatives have brought about significant changes, including constructing rehydration buildings in the area. Using geotagging technology, suitable locations were identified, leading to establishing five or six rehydration buildings in the town. Local farmers and environmentalists have witnessed the positive effects firsthand, with the region being excluded from the list of 216 drought-prone taluks. Over the past 5 to 6 years, borewell water levels have risen dramatically, with water now accessible at depths of 10-12 feet, compared to the previous depths of 40-45 feet. This significant change has benefited the farmers and contributed to the restoration of the local ecosystem. This success story serves as a beacon of hope for water sustainability in the region, highlighting the impactful work of The Art of Living organization in revitalizing water sources. . . . . #artofliving #gurudevsrisriravishankar #artoflivingsocialprojects #gurudev #waterconservation #worldwaterday #watercrisis #waterislife
