One of the individuals chosen to light a torch at Israel's 76th Independence Day ceremony was Col.(res.) Shaul Levi of Elbit Systems. Levi's contributions as a founding member of the team that developed the command-and-control system for the "Arrow" missile defense program along with Israel's Missile Defense Organization (IMDO) have been critical in strengthening Israel's air defenses. Elbit Systems secured a $53 million contract to supply its Crossbow Unmanned Turreted 120mm Mortar Systems to General Dynamics European Land Systems for a European customer's Pandur 6x6 APCs. This marks the first Crossbow order since its 2023 unveiling. The system offers high crew protection, rapid firing rate of up to 10 rounds/minute, ability to shoot guided munitions up to 10km, and 360° capability without index loading. Elbit Systems has been awarded a $37M contract to supply its Iron Fist Active Protection System (APS) to General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems for upgrading the U.S. Army's Bradley M2A4E1 Infantry Fighting Vehicles. The Iron Fist is an advanced hard kill system that provides 360-degree protection against anti-armor threats like anti-tank rockets, missiles, drones and loitering munitions. The contract will be executed over 24 months. Elbit Systems awarded $50M contract for "Red Sky" air defense system. The 2-year contract includes two Red Sky tactical batteries integrating soft-kill electronic warfare and hard-kill missile capabilities to defend against drones and other low-altitude threats. The comprehensive solution features Elbit's Redrone EW system and anti-aircraft missiles.
