After more than a year affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, online original production rose to new heights in 2022 with a total of 4,878 hours across 1,752 titles released; Netflix alone produced 3,531 hours across 935 titles. The proportion of Netflix’s original hours from outside the US increased to 62% after hovering steady at around 55% in the three previous years. 

The new edition of this annual report summarizes first-run original content launched in 2022 by the world’s leading online video platforms. For the first time it estimates the value of investments by all of the global players.
