How Automation in the Public Sector Can Help “Flatten the Curve” in Combatting Covid-19

Keeping the public informed and feeling safe, “flattening the curve” of contagion, developing a vaccine quickly and keeping the global economy upright – these add up to a once-in-a-lifetime challenge facing public sector officials, even as this global crisis continues to unfold before us.

And the responsibilities of the public sector are immense. When the dust finally settles, the number of unemployment claims filed, business loans administered, government grants distributed, and payments processed will no doubt shatter previous records.

During this critical moment in time, Automation Anywhere knows that speed and urgency matters most. To this end, we are collaborating with our customers, partners and developers to combat business disruptions and help the public sector deliver on its mission when citizens desperately need it.

A case in point: municipal health departments everywhere are working around the clock to prepare for a potential crush of coronavirus patients.

Still other health departments are more prepared for the crush, thanks to past automations that have reduced their manual processing activities. Here is one of them.

San Diego County Health and Human Services (HHS), which serves a population of 3.3 million, has found a way to reduce administrative activities in order to let their health care workers dedicate more time toward helping people. They built bots to automate 500 forms on 2,000 computer systems.

Great use of automation to flatten the curve. Every city should consider doing the same. #localgovernment #localgov #publicsector

Freeing up healthcare providers from mundane and time consuming tasks using digital workers (Bots) will help Healthcare provider to focus more on patients. This something much needed in the current situation of the world.
