i just got back from a business trip and took these with me to track my luggage and carry on backpack along with an actual airtag to test them against each other and they work great and i actually got the notification from the RCA ones that my luggage was on the carousel before my airtag. i will definitely be buying these for all my families luggage and returning my apple ones which are way more expensive!

has great features - can share the tags with family members, set alerts if they get left behind and loud alarm to help you find them. recommend!

I picked up the RCA Compact Finder Bluetooth Tracker for Luggage, Keys, Wallet, Bags, and Suitcases to be used on my travels this coming summer. Next weekend I leave for Atlanta and want to make sure I don't lose anything - as I had recently lost my wallet and that was a headache I wish upon no one.

It's super easy to set up; download and open the "Find My" Apple app, pull the tab, press on the front of the tag, then register it on the app, and you're all set! Once I did that I attached it to my backpack to test it, then I walked away. The only downside I'd say is that it took about 15 minutes before getting notified of its location.

Overall, these are great alternatives to Air Tags at a fraction of the price. They may not notify instantly but within 15 minutes, I don't think that's bad, I still know where it is and can then go find or get it.

If you're familiar with the Find My app, the set-up on the iPhone is very easy. Also, the tags come with a short booklet to show the steps. I added the tag and was up and running and all looked great....... Find My found the tag, which was with me.

My big expectation (maybe too big) was to place this on a dog's collar and easily locate him if lost in the woods, or at least, runs off down the street and around the corner. So, to test this, I left the tag at home (on purpose) and my wife and I left. When we got to our destination, I checked on the tag. Find My could not find it but told me 43 minutes ago the tag was at the house. Turns out this was to be expected. This tag, as well as any other tag, uses Bluetooth, not internet. You need to be close enough to the tag to find it. Also, you can activate the sound to find it that way.

But Air Tags have another method for Find My. Apple devices that support Find My and have Bluetooth turned on can be near the tag. That device can then passively transmit the location to my phone. Since there were no iPhones at the house, my left-behind tag could not be found. Now I know.

So, I did another test. I left the tag at home (on purpose) and my wife (with iPhone) at home (on purpose). When I got to my destination, I checked on the tag. And, to my disappointment, Find My still did not find the tag. Not sure if this iPhone feature only works for Apple Air Tags and not for this RCA tag. The RCA webpage implied it should work. Don't know if Lost Mode needs to be enabled for this feature to work, but nothing states this as a requirement. Will continue to do some research, and if I find a fix, will update my rating. But until then, this tag falls short of what I would like it to do and what I understand it should be able to do.

This is just like an air tag, but without precision tracking. It uses other iphones to get its location and you can see it on the map. You can play a sound on it if you know you are near to the object to help find it, but it won't navigate you to the exact spot like a name brand airtag would. We tested it out by putting it in some luggage, we saw it come to the airplane so we could know that it moved through the process. This only works if you have an iphone.

This RCA Bluetooth Tracker works just fine. I really like the left behind feature. I didn’t know it was a thing until I got a notification that it had been left behind. I had put it in my car to do some testing on how the ‘Find My’ feature worked and it let me know once I was out of range and provided a last known address/location.

I think this would be great for expensive things you really don’t want to lose like camera cases, bikes, drones, backpacks, or expensive equipment. I could easily see a business using this for tracking large pieces of equipment to protect against theft. It might work OK for larger dogs, but the tag itself might be too large for a cat or small item like a wallet. If you're prone to losing your keys, the Play Sound feature would probably be helpful.

Setup was super easy: open the ‘Find My’ app, pull the tab, press on the front, and then register the tag. If I had one complaint it would be that it’s not quite as responsive as an Air Tag. That is, sometimes the location didn’t update for 15-20 minutes even though I knew it had moved. But given the lower cost compared to an Air Tag, I think this is an acceptable trade-off.
