Changes to the Google search algorithm have caused independent publishers across the web to lose drastic positioning in search results, often overnight. The search results now seem to favor sites owned by media conglomerates and forums, which is a disservice not only to content creators, but internet users in general. To state unequivocally: Independent publishers drive the open internet. Google doesn't have a search engine if there's no open internet.
