We’re continuously working to provide you with more options to engage with us online. Whether you’re trying to access your account, contact us during an outage or report an issue, we’re here for you.

To help serve you better, we currently offer the following online tools and services.

Outage tools

When an outage occurs, our employees spring into action both behind the scenes and on site to restore power as quickly and safely as possible.

Our outage map allows you to see where outages are taking place, approximately how many customers are affected, the current estimated time of restoration, and crew status. Updated every 10 minutes, 24/7.

You can sign up to receive SMS (text message) or email outage notifications as a way to stay up-to-date when there’s an outage at your home. To sign up for outage notifications, you have to log in to your online account.

Don’t have an online account? Register for access to our self-serve portal.

We’re providing another way for you to contact us during power outages. Whether you’re looking to report an outage or get updates, you can now use the live power outage chat feature.

Representatives are available Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Tip: You can also use our outage map to check the status of an unplanned outage affecting your area.

Mobile app

The Toronto Hydro mobile app provides access to our outage and construction maps, your online account, and other tools and services. The app is available in the Apple App Store for iOS devices (version 14.3 and newer) and in the Google Play Store for Android devices (version 7.0 and newer).

Download the app to:

  • View details on current outages
  • Report an outage in your area
  • View information about our construction projects (including planned outages)
  • Access your account (view bills, sign up for outage notifications, register for eBills and more)
  • Use other tools and services (contact options, report a problem and submit a service request)

Bill downloads
If you download your bill(s), you may not receive a download notification within the app. However, the bill(s) will be saved to the Downloads folder on your device.
Privacy and security

Toronto Hydro does not permanently store or share any personal information from the app. User information is only temporarily stored within the app while the app is in use. Once the app is closed, all user information is deleted.

The app will track your location only if you accept the geo location prompt on your device. Geo location is not connected to your user identity.

The app has gone through rigorous security testing and continues to adhere to strict security measures and standards.

Biometric authentication
The app does not support fingerprint and/or face ID authentication. For iOS devices, you can use the native password utility on your iPhone. Android devices do not support this type of authentication.

Self-serve portal

Our new and improved self-serve portal provides you with online access to your account. Easy access and new features will help you manage your account online, 24/7.

With the self-serve portal, you can access these features and more:

  • View your bill
  • Register for eBills
  • Sign up for outage notifications
  • Switch your electricity price plan
  • Chat with a Customer Care representative

Have a question about your account? Use our customer chat for any account-related inquiries. This live chat feature is available within your self-serve portal, which means that you have to log in to your online account or register for access.

Representatives are available Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Interactive maps

Our interactive streetlight map allows you to easily locate, report and check the status of streetlight issues online. Spot a streetlight out? Help keep our communities well-lit and safe by reporting the issue.

We’ve made improvements to our construction map. It now includes information about planned outages in addition to construction projects. As we continue working to improve grid safety and reliability throughout the city, check the map to find details about work happening in your area.

Green Button

Green Button is a program aimed at helping you better understand and manage your electricity usage. It provides an easy way to access and/or transfer usage data. You can download your usage data, as well as share it with pre-approved third-party companies that offer energy-saving products and services.
