In 2011, Phuc Yea opened in Downtown Miami as a pop-up concept. Now it has opened as a permanent restaurant on Miami's Upper East Side. Fueled by old-school hip-hop, graffiti and a love for life, Zapata and Meinhold's rendition of Vietnamese cuisine is deeply inspired by the flavors of the Mekong, but fused with their personal experiences and cooking styles. The food is distinctly 'theirs', vibrant, bold and layered.
This is NOT a typical Vietnamese restaurant. It does not serve Pho or traditional stir-fries and noodle dishes. Eliminate any preconceived notions of "what a Vietnamese restaurant should be". It does, however, offer an extensive selection of dishes deeply rooted in Vietnamese flavors and ingredients albeit fused with spicy, bold Cajun richness.
