The year 2022 has witnessed events that have emphasised how the energy sector is inseparable from geopolitical and economic disruptions. In this ever-changing environment, it is important to acknowledge that energy transition requires more than sustainability and decarbonisation efforts. It is imperative that the energy trilemma be addressed: How can we strike the right balance of ensuring energy sustainability, security and affordability for all?

We are committed to be at the forefront of the energy transition and ENRich 2022, our flagship Energy and Natural Resources conclave, is a key endeavour towards this commitment. As a part of ENRich, we will showcase startups with innovative solutions that can address one or more aspects of the energy trilemma.

As part of the ENRich 2022 startup competition, shortlisted startups will have the chance to pitch their solutions to an esteemed jury of KPMG in India and industry experts. The jury will evaluate the startups based on their pitch and solutions.

The energy Trilemma

“Energy security, environment protection, prices and technology can no longer be viewed through different lenses. These factors, and others, are converging, and we will require a new approach to tackle the challenges to come.”

- Anish De
Global Sector Head - Energy & Natural Resources, KPMG

ENRich 2021 startup search: Key Highlights

Last year, in an effort to recognise the leading tech innovators in the Energy and Natural Resources (ENR) sector, KPMG in India launched the ENRich 2021 startup search. The event showcased startups with decarbonisation solutions relevant to the theme: ‘Preparing for the low carbon world’. Our inaugural startup search yielded a number of innovative and diverse solutions for decarbonisation.
