    Shanghai Express is a free half-day layover tour designed to allow international travelers to explore the charm of Shanghai during their layovers or waiting times. Throughout the 5-6 hours layover tour, we provide transportation, guides, and internet services - all FREE of charge. Travelers will have the opportunity to visit the Bund, Yu Garden and other famous attractions in Shanghai, and to experience the city's history, culture, and cuisine.
  • Is this Shanghai layover tour open to everyone?

    Currently, Shanghai Pudong International Airport allows visa-free entry for international travelers from certain countries and regions for up to 144 hours. For travelers from other countries and regions, if your country has signed a reciprocal visa waiver agreement with China or if you hold a 24-hour temporary entry permit issued by the airport border inspection, you're more than welcome to join us on this exciting adventure!   • When is the registration deadline?

    Registration is open offline, and spots are limited to ensure an intimate touring experience. Once we reach a maximum of 10 participants for one tour, registration for that one tour will be closed.
  • Where should I register for this Shanghai layover tour activity?

    We offer offline registration. Please proceed to the Trip.com Group currency exchange counter located outside Island A in the departure hall of Terminal 2 at Shanghai Pudong Airport upon your arrival. Our guide will be available at the counter one hour before the start of the tour to assist with the registration process.
  • Can I register for the tour online?

    No online booking or advance registration required! Once you arrive at Shanghai Pudong International Airport, head over to the Trip.com Group currency exchange counter located outside Island A in the departure hall of Terminal 2. Our guides will be at the counter one hour before the tour starts to assist with registration.
  • How early should I arrive at the counter for registration?

    Our guides will be eagerly awaiting your arrival at the Trip.com Group currency exchange counter located outside Island A in the departure hall of Terminal 2 at Shanghai Pudong Airport, ready to assist with registration one hour before the tour. We kindly suggest arriving at the counter in advance and ensuring a smooth start based on your arrival time and schedule.
  • Is there a limit on the number of participants for the tour?

    In order to ensure a high-quality experience, the maximum number of participants allowed on each tour is ten. Tours will go ahead as long as there is at least one participant.
  • Do I need to prepare any documents in advance?

    You only need to provide the customs-required documents at the customs for clearance. Before confirming your participation in this event, our guide may ask you to sign a travel agreement and present your passport to ensure travel safety.
  • What should I do if I miss the tour I booked?

    We recommend arriving at the counter for tour check-in at least 1 hour in advance. Our guide will be waiting at the counter until the scheduled departure time. If you don't arrive by the departure time, you won't be able to participate in that tour, but you can try to book a spot on the next tour instead.
  • Can I leave midway if I change my mind?

    Your comfort and convenience are our top priorities. If you decide to end your tour early, you're free to leave at any time. However, please note that transportation services will not be provided for departing guests.
  • How many times can I participate in a day?

    If time allows, we encourage you to experience Shanghai as much as possible. There is no limit on the number of times you can participate.
  • What if I miss my next flight due to delay?

    We recommend arriving at the airport three hours prior to your next flight for international transit preparations. Each of our tour routes ends at estimated arrival times at the airport. Simply choose a route that aligns with your transit schedule.
  • Does this layover tour include meals and transportation in Shanghai?

    We provide free transportation for the whole tour and internet service as well. While we're happy to offer dining recommendations, please note that we do not provide meals.
  • Does this activity include insurance?

    Yes, this activity includes team insurance.
  • Does this Shanghai layover tour include accommodation?

    While the half-day tour program does not include accommodation, feel free to book hotels through Trip.com if needed. Let us help make your stay in Shanghai as comfortable as possible.
