New Student Scholarships
Adler University offers a variety of scholarships to help support the educational goals of its students. Unlike student loans, scholarships do not need to be repaid and are awarded based on a variety of criteria including, but not limited to, academic excellence, mission relevance, and community involvement and service.
Merit Scholarships
Adler University is pleased to offer renewable merit scholarships to all academically accomplished first year students who are admitted and enroll at the Chicago campus for fall 2017. All admitted applicants who meet the GPA requirements below are automatically eligible for a merit scholarship in the ranges indicated in the tables below– no additional scholarship application is required. Actual award amounts will be determined through a holistic review of the application for admission and evaluation of other indicators. Admission to Adler University is highly competitive and applicants are encouraged to complete the application process as soon as possible.

- Undergraduate GPA is calculated at time of admission and is based on all undergraduate courses taken, not only from the degree-granting institution.
- Scholarships are awarded over two years (maximum). Students must remain continually enrolled at Adler University to receive the total amount of their package and remain in Satisfactory Academic Progress with the Office of Financial Aid in order for scholarships to be renewed.

- Alumni of Adler University’s master’s programs who are admitted to a doctoral program will receive a minimum merit scholarship package of $10,000.
- AmeriCorps Grant Match – All admitted applicants who have served with AmeriCorps are eligible for a minimum merit scholarship package of $5,500 in recognition of their service. Corps members who apply for University admission prior to completing their AmeriCorps service will also be considered.
- Applicants who qualify for the Community Partner Scholarship (50% tuition) are not eligible for the merit scholarship.
- Admitted students who are a graduate of one of Adler University’s designated institutional partners, will receive a minimum merit scholarship package of $5,000 – $10,000 as specified through our institutional partnership. Please contact admissions@adler.edu if you would like to begin the process for your school to be considered as an institutional partner.

- Scholarships are awarded over three years (maximum). Students must remain continually enrolled at Adler University to receive the total amount of their package and remain in Satisfactory Academic Progress with the Office of Financial Aid in order for scholarships to be renewed.
- Graduate GPA is calculated at time of admission and is based on all graduate coursework completed, not only from the degree-granting institution. Students must receive a graduate degree prior to enrolling for graduate GPA to be considered.
- Executive format programs are not eligible for this scholarship program.
Other Scholarship Opportunities
Social Justice Scholarship
Recipients of the Social Justice Scholarship are selected based on their past dedication and/or anticipated future contributions to service, academic excellence, and leadership. Priority is given to candidates with either a history of providing community service, or an articulated plan to design and implement effective and innovative solutions to a significant social problem. Candidates are reviewed automatically, and scholarships are generally awarded at time of acceptance.
Award Amount: up to $5,000 for the first year (non-renewable)
Community Partner Scholarship
Adler University values the long standing relationships we have with several community organizations. Recipients of the Community Partner Scholarship must be a full-time employee at one of Adler University’s designated community partner sites. Scholarship recipients must submit all admissions documents and be accepted to a Master’s or Doctoral degree program at the Chicago campus. Candidates are reviewed automatically and scholarships are generally awarded at time of acceptance. For questions on eligible community partner sites please contact the Office of Admissions.
Award Amount: 50% of tuition for program
Institutional Partner Scholarship
Adler University values the relationships we have established with other academic institutions. Admitted students who are a graduate of one of Adler University’s designated institutional partners, will receive a merit scholarship package as through our Merit Scholarship in the minimum amount specified through our institutional partnership. Current institutional partners include: Spelman College, Austin College and University of Illinois at Chicago’s InTouch Crisis Hotline volunteers. Candidates are reviewed automatically and scholarships are generally awarded at time of acceptance. For more information on Institutional Partner scholarships please contact the Office of Admissions.
