Coalition Letter Calls for Congressional Action on Dreamers

Americans for Prosperity, Freedom Partners, The LIBRE Initiative Sign On

(Arlington, VA) – Today The LIBRE Initiative joined with Freedom Partners Chamber of Commerce and Americans for Prosperity in releasing a joint letter to the bipartisan congressional leadership regarding the Dreamers. The letter encourages the leaders to work together during the upcoming “Lame Duck” session of Congress to provide certainty to the Dreamers so that they can fully contribute their knowledge and skills to society, and live their lives in the country they love without fear or uncertainty.

Earlier this year, the president proposed a path to citizenship for 1.8 million Dreamers. However, Congress and the administration failed to agree on compromise legislation to accomplish it. Members of Congress have an opportunity to pass such legislation in the weeks ahead.
