Vice President Mike Pence will travel to Des Moines next week to promote President Donald Trump's tax cutting agenda.

He is scheduled to appear at 1 p.m. Aug. 15 at the Community Choice Credit Union Convention Center's grand ballroom. The event is being promoted by America First Policies, a non-profit group established to support Trump's policies.

Vice President Mike Pence speaks Wednesday, July 11, 2018, at Rockwell Collins in Cedar Rapids Iowa, after a brief technology tour.

Pence's speech is open to the public and doors will open at 11 a.m. Reservations can be made at the American First web site.

Iowa has become a frequent stop for White House officials. Pence visited Cedar Rapids in July to promote the administration's efforts to reduce taxes and improve the economy.

Trump stopped in Peosta, in Dubuque County, in late July to talk trade, politics and job training. He promised, despite tariff pain, things will soon get better for Iowa farmers.

President Donald Trump greets guests after arriving at Dubuque Regional Airport in Dubuque, Iowa, on Thursday morning, July 26, 2018. Trump was in the state to participate in a roundtable discussion about workforce development at Northeast Iowa Community College in Peosta, Iowa.

“We just opened up Europe for you farmers,” he said. “You’re not going to be too angry with Trump, I can tell you.”
