Polling Covered GA-06, MI-06, MI-08, NC-13, OH-01, and VA-02

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Health Care Voter released six new polls in key House races across the country, finding that Democratic candidates are in a strong position and Americans are tired of the Republicans’ votes to sabotage health care.

Health Care Voter polled voters in GA-06MI-06MI-08NC-13, OH-01, and VA-02.

  • GA-06: Lucy McBath (51%), Karen Handel (45%).
  • MI-06: Matt Longjohn (42%), Fred Upton (40%).
  • MI-08: Elissa Slotkin (47%), Mike Bishop (46%).
  • NC-13: Kathy Manning (43%), Tedd Budd (43%).
  • OH-01: Aftab Pureval (44%), Steve Chabot (47%).
  • VA-02: Elaine Luria (47%), Scott Taylor (47%).

The survey, conducted by Change Research, also revealed the following:

  • Health care is a leading issue in all races tested.
  • The majority of respondents were against repealing the Affordable Care Act.
  • A plurality of respondents believes that Republicans have undermined their health care.
  • A plurality of respondents was less likely to vote for the Republican candidates based on their votes to repeal the Affordable Care Act.

“These polls make it clear that in the days before the election, voters are concerned about the quality of their health care,” said Derek Turner, Pollster at Change Research. “The American people want a country that defends protections for people with pre-existing conditions, and they overwhelmingly trust Democrats more on health care.”

Health Care Voter found that voters across the board are going to the ballot box exhausted from the Republican Party’s attacks on their health care. The results reflect polls with at least 300 respondents in each Congressional district and were paid for by Change Now.
