Biography

2019: Named third-team All-GLVC after overcoming an early season injury...earned Academic All-GLVC honors...appeared in 13 of 19 matches, stared 11...tied for second on the team scoring with 14 points on five goals and four assists...scored the game-winning goals in the win over the University of Illinois Springfield and Lewis University...finished his career ranked 10th all-time at USI with 69 points, while tying for fifth all-time with 29 goals. 

2018: Named second-team All-Region...first-team All-GLVC selection and Academic All-GLVC...played in all 18 matches, started the final 11...notched 18 points (eights goals, two assists) including two two-goal performances in a 2-1 win over Drury University and a 2-0 win over William Jewell College...finished season with a .449 shots on goal percentage and three game-winning goals.

2017: Named second-team All-GLVC despite missing six matches due to injuries...also named Academic All-GLVC…led the Eagles in scoring with 16 points on six goals and four assists…had the game-winning goal in the win over Truman State University and William Jewell College.

2016: Named GLVC Freshman of the Year, NSCAA first-team All-Midwest Region, CCA first-team All-Midwest Region, and first-team All-GLVC...led the Eagles in scoring despite missing six games with 21 points on 10 goals and one assist...the 10 goals was a USI freshman record...recorded three game winning goals...scored a season-high two goals twice.

2015: Redshirted

HIGH SCHOOL: Joined the USI program after playing for Vincennes Lincoln High School (Vincennes, Indiana)…was named first-team ISCA All-State in soccer after leading the state in goals (71) in 2012….also was named first-team All-District and NSCAA All-Region following the 2012 season…named the Vincennes Sun-Commercial Player of the Year after helping VLHS to the IHSAA sectional championship in 2012.

PERSONAL: Son of Nemecio Avila and Carolina Ramirez.
