Serguei Okhonin CEO

Serguei’s entry into the tech industry commenced with roles as a Research Associate at the Institute of Semiconductor Physics in Novosibirsk, Russia, and positions at IMO and LEG, EPFL.

In 2010, Serguei launched the ActLight project, focusing on developing innovative light sensors. As the co-founder and CEO of ActLight SA, he envisions the company’s future as a key player in impacting tech industries worldwide for a better future. Before founding ActLight, Serguei founded the company Innovative Silicon Inc. IP created, eventually acquired by a large US semiconductor player in 2010.

Maxim Gureev CTO

Maxim Gureev obtained his M. Sc. in Physics from Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology in 2003, followed by PhD degree from EPFL in 2012. Early in his carrier, from 2003 to 2007, Maxim served as a researcher at Andreyev Acoustics Institute in Moscow and as a Senior Production Manager for digital consumer devices at Rolsen Electronics. Between 2007 and 2012, he contributed as a research assistant at EPFL’s Ceramics Laboratory, with a primary focus on ferroelectric materials.
Since 2012,  Maxim has been a pivotal part of ActLight, spearheading technology development efforts.

Roberto Magnifico CCO

Roberto joined ActLight in 2017 as CCO. He has 30+ years of experience in the electronic components industry. He began his career at ST Microelectronics as a product engineer and evolved his career with progressive growing commercial responsibilities with Phillips Semiconductor (NXP) and, later, managing as Vice President the growth of the European business at Intersil. More recently, in the positions of Vice President Sales & Marketing, he helped Swiss industrial groups such as Cicor Technologies and Fischer Connectors to expand their business globally.

This is an IP company with a new technology concept. Photodiodes are semiconductor devices that respond to light by generating an electric current. Over the decades, their technology and design have improved but the fundamental concept remained the same. The device operates in a static way. A constant voltage is applied, and the resulting photocurrent is measured to infer light intensity. This is not the case for dynamic photodetectors, which use a different approach.
