The Nicest Places in America is Reader’s Digest’s yearly search for places where people are kind, differences are celebrated and neighbors work together to make their communities better. Buffalo, New York, received the top honor in 2023 for its community response to a record-shattering blizzard that brought the city to a halt. This year, we partnered with Dollar General for our seventh annual search. Dollar General is also highlighting employees committed to their communities and the mission of serving others across the country through its Because Kindness Matters campaign.
