Celebrating the Groundbreaking of The Oaks Net Zero Energy Community

2.7.18 by the Green Hammer Team

Today, the Green Hammer team proudly participated in the groundbreaking celebration for The Oaks Net Zero Energy neighborhood at Rose Villa Senior Living. When complete, the 12-unit project will be the first and only net zero energy community in Portland's senior housing market.

The community, scheduled for completion in early 2019, includes 12 net-zero-energy cottages designed to produce as much energy as they consume in a year through energy efficiency measures and a 73-kilowatt solar array. Considering Governor Kate Brown's recent Executive Order 17-20, which requires all new homes meet the U.S Department of Energy’s Zero Energy Ready Standard by October 1, 2023, the Oaks at Rose Villa is proof that zero energy buildings are completely attainable today.

As of today, 10 of the 12 homes have been pre-sold. If you are interested in learning more, contact Rose Villa to schedule a tour.
