This Mother’s Day we want to shine a special light on graduate and mother Antoinette. As a double major in Environmental Resource Science & Biology, she understood the important impact earning a degree can have on her family.

“This journey my son has taken with me has demonstrated... the value of education and instilled a sense of personal empowerment for us both.”

Her advice to mothers thinking about going to school is this: “Set clear goals, have a support system, take advantage of the opportunities in scholarship aid, and to involve your child/children in campus or community events when possible. On the days that you find it harder to be both a successful mother and student, remember that your journey is unique. Take time for self-care and to reflect on your small victories with your child, they are your biggest fan,” Antoinette, Class of 2024.
