The Street Festival

Bikes on the Bayou Street Festival is a family event that celebrates motorcycles, bicycles and scooters in Eleanor Tinsley Park and along Allen Parkway. This all-inclusive festival will bring together the city’s two-wheeled enthusiasts to celebrate music, culture and their riding communities.

The street Festival is expanding with new things to see and do such as: The, Sampling Area – Biergarten, Crawfish Cove, Cornhole Tourney, Pickleball Exhibition, Car Show, Family Zone.  Of course, lots of Motorcycles, Bikes, Slingshots, Custom Cars and more!

Globe of Death

The globe of death is produced using several segmented, bowed portions of welded mesh where sections of material are fitted together and riveted. One panel of steel at the bottom of the globe acts as a trap door where riders and their bikes can enter and exit. The majority of riders use single cylinder dirt bikes to traverse the globe.  Riders tend to choose bikes that are lightweight and with high torque so that they can quickly achieve the speed required to complete loops within the sphere. Many riders may also have to go from high speeds to a dead stop very quickly.

MOTORCYCLE WHEELIES

Two Wheels or One Wheel?

A wheelie is also a common motorcycle stunt. The principles are the same as the bicycle wheelie, but the throttle and rear brakes are used to control the wheelie while a rider uses body weight and the steering to control the direction the inertia of the spinning front wheel acting as a balance.

APRIL 29 the TOP 25 and BEST OF SHOW – $250 Prize!  $40 Entry Fee – Includes weekend wristband – $20 each additional passenger.  Park & Register by 10am.  JUDGES: Mad Bear – Hot Rod Apparel / Cadillac KINGS – Car Club Worldwide & HATERMADE Clothing Co.  Join us April 30 for the SHOW N SHINE!  If you come out on Saturday, keep your wristbands on for FREE entry on Sunday.  Security will also be available over night if you want to park your car for both days.  $20 for new wristband.

The event will also provide motorcyclists the opportunity to participate in cruises throughout the festival space and secure overnight parking on festival grounds. Event organizers have meticulously chosen music acts for the festival with different genres to reset the mood each day.

  • THE HOUSTON PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT REGULATIONS PROHIBIT DOGS, AMPHIBIANS, REPTILES AND SNAKES THAT MAY OR MAY NOT BE CONSIDERED DANGEROUS. THEREFORE, WE REQUIRE THE BAN OF ALL SUCH ANIMALS. THIS DOES NOT INCLUDE SEEING EYE DOGS OR OTHER DOGS THAT PROVIDE ASSISTANCE TO PHYSICALLY CHALLENGED INDIVIDUALS.
  • ALSO, NO OUTSIDE FOOD OR DRINK, LAWN CHAIRS, COOLERS, OR FOUR-WHEELED VEHICLES, AND NO FIREARMS ARE ALLOWED INSIDE THE GROUNDS AS BIKES ON THE BAYOU IS A 51% BUSINESS

    OUTER TWO LANES ON ALLEN PARKWAY (EAST AND WESTBOUND) WILL BE RESERVED FOR MOTORCYCLE PARKING.
    FURTHERMORE, OVERNIGHT SECURITY WILL BE PROVIDED SO BIKES CAN BE LEFT OVERNIGHT OR FOR THE DURATION OF THE
    FESTIVAL
