Extra-long nails are a staple for most of the Kardashian-Jenner sisters, and Khloé Kardashian arguably leads the charge. She once famously said on an episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, “I love long nails. They give me energy.” But while that energy can definitely come in handy when you're a new mom like she is, some of her Instagram followers are openly doubting her ability to take care of baby daughter True after seeing her latest manicure.
On Saturday, Kardashian posted a closeup of her left hand, showing off matte red coffin nails that could easily be an inch-and-a-half long. She let the photo speak for itself, posting only the ❣️ emoji as the caption. Commenters, however, weren't as taciturn.
"How do you change diapers and dress your child with those nails? Crazy," one person wrote. It was a common question among the thousands of comments, along with, "U haven’t scratched the baby with those??" Some commenters offered unsolicited advice as if Kardashian was somehow unaware, 10 months into being a mother, that having very long nails might require being careful and maneuvering differently with an infant, like the person who wrote, "please be careful with those nails around baby. Maybe consider filing them down..... a lot." And then, of course, there were those that rushed to blatant judgment, with one commenter writing, "Horrible. I understand she doesn't take care of her baby. Impossible."
Some of Kardashian's fans weren't standing for the mom-shaming, telling her not to listen to the doubters and haters and trusting her to be a good mother. "All the comments about how she changes the diaper, does the baby look neglected????? No. In fact her baby looks well cared for," said one commenter, continuing, "girl keep being an amazing mom to that beautiful baby and do not let these comments affect you."

This is at least the second time this year that Instagram followers piled on questions about the motherliness of Kardashian's manicure. In January, she posted a selfie in which she was wearing similarly super-long nails, then in a dark burgundy shade. The comment section unfurled much like that of the latest section, with remarks like, "those nails... that's how i know you don't change your own baby's diapers," followed by fans coming to her defense. Half-sister Kylie Jenner has also been criticized for her long nails, most notably right after giving birth to daughter Stormi last year.

Hopefully, Kardashian's long nails really do give her energy; she'll need it to fight all the negative vibes in her Instagram comments.
