Group touts that Right to Work policies can benefit all New Mexicans

Albuquerque, NM – Americans for Prosperity-New Mexico (AFP-NM) has launched a grassroots campaign to educate New Mexicans on the benefits of Right to Work, which leads to more money in their pockets, more freedom, and more jobs for New Mexicans. The “New Jobs New Mexico” campaign will feature AFP’s hallmark grassroots organizing, a robust digital effort, and a long-term commitment to winning in the fight for worker freedom.

AFP-NM state director, Robert “Burly” Cain released the following statement:

“Right to Work is about worker freedom and making New Mexico a more attractive place to do business. Right to Work states have twice the job growth rate of states with compulsory unionism.  And, workers should never be forced to hand over their hard-earned money to a union that might not represent their best interests. We believe that every hard-working New Mexican should have the right to work and it should be their choice to decide if union representation is worth a piece of their paycheck.

“Union bosses will be quick to denounce us and fight to preserve their piece of the pie. But the truth is that union membership in Right to Work states has increased because of accountability practices put in place that force unions to better serve their members, not the other way around. It’s not only good for union membership, it’s also great for job growth.

“We commend local leaders in Sandoval county that have filed local ordinances to bring Right to Work immediately. We are going to work tirelessly across the state to free workers to expand opportunity for new jobs and New Mexican’s pursuit of the American Dream.”
